The Communications Director for New Patriotic Party NPP, Yaw Buaben Asamoa in an interview Daily News Ghana monitored has said he doesn’t hate ladies thus the NDC are peddling falsehood about his press conference he conducts a few days ago.
According to him, he has been misquoted by the NDC after his press communication with regards to the appointment of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for John Mahama in the upcoming 2020 elections.
Speaking on Accra-based Kingdom FM, he said “I never said women cannot occupy positions in Ghana but what I said was that, ‘’Former President John Mahama does not take Ghanaians seriously with his selection of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate.”
‘’Their running mate lacks the political character that is why their communicators have resulted in propaganda. I never insulted women and no one hates her but we are talking about her credentials as a politician which she failed,’’ he added
Earlier the Central Regional women’s wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa, for comments he made about the Vice Presidential Candidate of the NDC, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
A statement signed by the Women’s Organizer, Faustina N.L Lamptey, suggests the comments by Mr. Buaben Asamoa is a reflection of the Akufo-Addo-led government.
“We the women’s wing of the central NDC is not surprised by the posturing of Buabeng Asamoah and the NPP. We are convinced that his posturing is influenced by their candidate for elections 2020 who happens to be President Akufo-Addo,” the statement read.
