18,928 Ghanaians infected with HIV, 83% females; more statistics drop

The Ghana AIDS Commission has released data on new HIV infections in Ghana.
According to Asaase Radio’s statistics, 18,928 Ghanaians have been infected with HIV.
There are 83 percent females and 17 percent males among the 18,928 people.
What’s even scarier is that the virus has infected 5,211 young people.
Adults aged 25 and above account for 53% of total HIV infections, with children aged 14 and under accounting for 19%.
