The leadership of Ghana’s Parliament has set up a 20-member mediation team to bring some finality to the constant stalemate in Parliament over the approval of the 2022 budget and economic policy statement presented to the Legislature by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori- Atta.

The mediation team is made up of 10 Members of Parliament from the Majority side and 10 from the Minority side.

The team is expected to deliberate on the matters

The team has also been tasked to find an amicable solution to matters that could be handled at leadership levels other than the floor of the house.

The team will start work today, Thursday, 2 December 2021, the Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh disclosed.

The MP for Nsawam-Adoagyire Constituency in the Eastern Region made the revelation in an interview on Accra-based Neat FM.

According to him, what is happening in Parliament is despicable and does not auger well for the country’s democratic space.

He said what is happening in Parliament should be nibbed in the bud once and for all because it is fast derailing the gains chalked since 1992.
