2022 WCQ: Nigeria coach Eguavoen sets in Spartak Moscow’s top star against Ghana

Augustine Eguavoen, Nigeria’s coach, has stated his desire to persuade Victor Moses to reconsider his retirement decision and play in the Super Eagles’ 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification play-off against Ghana this month.

Moses, who currently plays for Spartak Moscow in Russia, declared his retirement from international football in 2018 to focus on his club career.

Over a six-year period, the 31-year-old made 37 appearances for the Super Eagles, scoring 12 goals. He was a member of the South African team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

“We want the best for the country, therefore we’re going to try as hard as we can to qualify and go as far as we can in the World Cup, if not win it.” Nothing is feasible for us, and we want the greatest legs,” Eguavoen said, as reported by Elegbete TV Sports.

“I spoke with Victor [Moses] personally, and then I kept the rest to myself.” But, in order for Moses or anybody else to return, we’ll have to sit down and discuss. We’ve talked, we’ve talked about it, but I wouldn’t tell you anything else on this stage.
