Alexander Djiku, a Ghanaian defender, was named man of the match after an outstanding performance in Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 victory over Monaco.
Djiku scored the game-winning goal with a bicycle kick, defeating his namesake Alexander Nübel in goal for Monaco.
Strasbourg scored in the 23rd minute and held on for a fantastic win to bolster their top-four ambitions.
Apart from scoring, Djiku was a stalwart defender who deservedly won the individual award.
Djiku has already scored four goals in his career, two for Strasbourg and the other two for Bastia and Caen.
He has appeared in 24 games for Strasbourg this season, missing five due to suspension and his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 competition in Cameroon earlier this year.
Djiku did not miss a single game for the Black Stars, scoring in a 3-2 loss to Comoros.
The center-back is most likely to start against Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs later this month.
