A/R: Couple, two others burnt to death

Two separate fire events in the Ashanti Region resulted in the deaths of four people, including a couple.
The fire that broke out at Gyinyaase and Asante Mampong, respectively, in the Asokwa and Mampong municipalities, destroyed several properties.
The deceased, Godfred Afenyo, 57, and his wife, Happy Danso, 42, a petty trader, were resting in a makeshift wooden house at Gyinyaase when it caught fire.
The fire, which started about 12 a.m., destroyed their home as well as some nearby properties.
The police have subsequently transported their burnt corpse parts to the mortuary.

Her grandmother perished after several hours of unsuccessful calls for aid to put out the fire.
The event, according to D.O III Baffour Gyau of the Ghana Fire Service, was caused by the antiquated electrical wiring system in most of the area’s homes.
