It is a sad day for the country as another Nigerian doctor died passed away. Rev Sister (Dr) Kate Okpa, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Cross River state branch has died from COVID-19.
According to Daily Trust, the chairman of NMA Dr. Agam E. Ayuk noted that Dr. Okpa was from their Ogoja chapter.
Ayuk who disclosed this to journalists in Calabar said nine other doctors and medical personnel as a result of the deadly virus are on the danger list.
He said: “Currently, we have nine members who are infected with COVID-19. We lost a member in Ogoja, Rev Sister (Dr) Kate Okpa to COVID-19. It is something that is serious”.

The chairman of NMA went on to lament over the poor reportage of coronavirus in the state compared with its potency and intensity. “The National Response Team has been around for almost two weeks now but the challenge we have in the state is that positive cases of COVID-19 are under-reported and the government is not helping out,” he added.,
