E/R: Two teenagers beaten, dragged through the streets nakəd for stealing GH¢100

Two teenagers have been assaulted and humiliated at Akuapem Adawso in the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The victims both 14-years-old were accused of stealing GH¢100 on Friday, October 29, 2021.

On the same day a mob led by a certain Larbi and Akwei assaulted the two young boys to the extent that one defecated on himself.

They then forcibly took off their dress and paraded them from the Tinkong stretch of the Koforidua -Mamfe highway to Adawso on a market day.

Video of the assault and humiliation was intercepted by Starr News Eastern Regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah who visited the town to investigate the incident.

The said video shows the hands of the two boys tied with no clothes on while being paraded and assaulted.

Mother of one of the victims says the case has been reported to the Adawso Police who have also transferred it to the Akropong District Police command but the suspects are currently free and bragging in town that a poor person can’t win a case against a rich person.

“Help me, I don’t have anyone to help. The child is my sister’s child. She is deaf and dumb. She can’t speak. We don’t have money to litigate to seek justice. I beg you, help. They paraded them nakədly on the streets. They said they have stolen just Ghc100 which was taken away from them,” Augustina Danso appealed to Starr Fm while weeping,”

Starr Fm says all efforts made to reach the Akropong District Police proved futile.
