Former President of Ghana Jerry John Rawlings has said to the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure to use a clean electoral register ahead of the December 7 elections.
The former President at a meeting with the chiefs of the Anlo Traditional Area said the EC must uphold the sanctity and integrity of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. by ensuring that the register is cleaned up following the recent reports of missing names.
He added that the government’s recent deployment of the military and other security services that sparked some disaffection could have been done without the passion it generated.
At the meeting on Thursday, former President Rawling said, he raised these observations when at the recent meeting with the National Security Minister, the latter inquired if he had any concerns about current national issues.
