Ghanaian man painfully cancels wedding after girlfriend’s family demanded 100K bride price

In the current difficult economic climate, I’m not sure why a family would urge a struggling young man to spend 100,000 cedis on a wedding when the money could be better spent in a business that would return large profits.

After his fiancée’s family delivered him the bride’s price list for 100,000 cedis, a young and focused promising young man has called off his wedding.

According to a tweep who shared this story on Twitter, the young man earns 3,000 cedis as a civil month at the end of each month.

As shrewd and astute as he is, he swiftly informed his girlfriend to allow him some space and that he would take care of her family’s needs as soon as possible, knowing full well that he had broken up with her.

These are only a few of the many reasons why many men have declined to marry – nowadays, wedding festivities are more important to women and families than marriage.
