“I am sorry” – Nhyiaeso MP apologies for his ‘Sickle Cell Child’ comment

Dr. Stephen Amoah, NPP MP for Nhyiaeso Constituency, says he used adjectives like “unacceptable” and “unfortunate” to describe Ghana’s weak economy.

He has, however, issued an unequivocal apology to that effect and stated that “such a blunder will not be repeated.”

While discussing economic concerns in Ghana, Dr. Stephen Amoah described the current situation of the economy to a child with sickle cell disease.

Many people, including the Sickle Life and Sickle Cell Awareness Initiative, have criticized his remark (SCAI).

The SCAI described the remark as “sensitive.”

However, in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie,’ Dr Stephen Amoah repudiated and apologized for his remarks.

He apologized and added, “I’m sorry.”
