The Nationa Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to give the former special prosecutor maximum protection.
Speaking at an Emergency Press Briefing today, November 19, 2020, at the National Party Headquarters, Adabraka, Accra, Sammy Gyamfi said that if anything should happen to Martin Amidu they will ask President Akufo-Addo.
According to the National Communication Officer of NDC, Amidu needs the president’s protection from harm as people are already threatening the former special prosecutor.
“The President should protect Martin Amidu, if anything happens to him we will ask the Akufo-Addo,” he said.
However, Martin Amidu has said that Ghanaians should blame Akufo-Addo if anything happens to him.
Amidu said he has been the target of threats of harm ever since he left office in connection with his corruption and anti-corruption risk assessment report on the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal.
