‘Managing economy not about wearing white and quoting bible verses’ – Ofori-Atta told

John Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, has slammed the Finance Minister for failing to take extreme measures to save the economy.

Mr. Ofori-Atta had done very little with economic management as Minister of Finance, according to John Jinapor, who also stated that biblical concepts have not translated into infrastructural or developmental advancement.

“I want to tell the Finance Minister that, managing this economy is not about quoting Bible verses or wearing white. Thank you very much for the Bible quotations but when you quote the Bible, you must follow that with actions, principles, programs, and projects.”

The MP was speaking in Parliament during a debate on the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy) Bill, which was later passed by the House with a 1.5 percent majority.

Mr. Jinapor emphasized that the Finance Minister’s efforts thus far have had little impact on the country’s economic predicament and that the government’s policies have aggravated the plight of Ghanaians who are already suffering.
