Founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Mensa Otabil, took time off his sermon on Sunday to pray for the family of the late former president, Flt. Lt. Jerry Rawlings.
Just at the beginning of his Sunday service, which was aired across all Television networks in Ghana, a sad-looking Mensa Otabil lamented that “last week never came with good news”. It was an atmosphere of prayers and tears as congregants joined in prayer for the late president.
The clergy has been on the receiving end of criticism from the late president who on various occasions has chided them for their contribution to corruption in the country.
The Office of Former President Jerry John Rawlings says there will be no one-week ceremony held in his honor. The statement also talks about turning away visitors who show up without face masks.
