Following further chieftaincy confrontations in Janton Dashie in the Savannah Region’s North East Gonja District, police have reported the arrest of two people.
The suspects were apprehended in the late hours of March 16th, according to authorities.
Two people were killed and five others were critically injured in the fighting.
Some homes were completely destroyed by fire.
To maintain peace in the community, a joint police-military force has been sent.
A chieftaincy dispute has erupted between the people of Janton and Banvim, both of whom live in the North East Gonja District.
For the past three years, the District Security Council (DISEC) has been mediating the situation.
The area has since returned to normalcy.
