The Asankragua Divisional Command has initiated a manhunt for a pastor accused of stealing 40,000 from a female church member, setting fire to her home, and fleeing.
The culprit, Mega Word Chapel International pastor Kenneth Mensah, is reported to be on the run after locking the victim, Rosemond Amoafo, a nurse, in her home and lighting it on fire.
Nana Kumi, the Chief Superintendent, is appealing to the public for help in apprehending the culprit.
“We have posted his photographs and the name of the church in the public domain and are requesting people to assist us in arresting him,” he stated, according to Myjoyonline.com.
“If you suspect any foul means by a clergyman, report it to the local police station,” the police chief advises the people.
Joana Asare, Rosemond Amoafo’s daughter, explained that her mother received the 40,000 when her family sold a store they owned, among other things, to help her fund her desire to travel abroad.
Kenneth Mensah, on the other hand, convinced the victim that her older sister, Rebecca Amoafo, was a witch, and plotted to sabotage her voyage.
