Police rescued 13 child slaves at Adawso-Asubone

Information reaching Daily News Ghana indicates that the police have rescued 13 child slaves at Adawso-Asubone in the Kwahu South District.

Kojo Yankson giving a report on the ‘Super Morning Show’ on Joy FM said that the police on Wednesday dawn whiles it was raining rescue these helpless children from their slave masters.

He added that these slave masters buy these children from their parents and take them to fish on the Afram River and totally work them off.

He further explained that out of the 13 children resued two are female with a five-year-old among them.

“The children were terrified with the operations but the police did their best to handle them well and they are now in a safe hand’s whiles their slave masters are in police custody in Koforidua for interrogations,” Kojo stated.

He concluded that restoration will take time and trauma-focused counseling. But already the signs of freedom are remarkable.
