A 50- minute heavy downpour in Damongo in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region has rendered several residents homeless with many homes, shops and schools flooded in the township according to Joy News report.
According to the report, the rain started around 10:00 PM last night and stopped briefly but resumed at dawn today at about 5: 00 am with a heavy downpour.
Both public and private properties like bridges, schools, houses including farmlands and shops were affected.
Also, many maize and groundnut farms in Redemption town and Soalepe have been submerged with no life lost.
The affected communities include Canteen, Redemption town, Fire Service, Hangarline, and Soalepe.
Also, the two-man dams, Agric and Canteen in Damongo that were dried, suddenly became full after the downpour.
