The Tema Timber Market has been devastated by fire, damaging multiple shops and properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started about 12 p.m. on Wednesday and immediately spread to other portions of the market.
We were able to capture videos of helpless Ghana National Fire Service officers delivering water from their tankers to residents to assist put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but eyewitnesses say the situation became out of hand due to chemicals on the market.
