Drill music hitmakers Asakaa Boys have been accused of not being paid for their efforts by the organizers of one of Ghana’s biggest annual festivals.
Jaybahd, a member of the Asakaa lads, described how they performed for free at Afrochella in 2020 in a Twitter area with guests like Efya in Asante Twi.
He went on to say that this was entirely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which had put a damper on numerous financial transactions.
The musician also expressed his displeasure with the Afrochella organizers for failing to pay them in 2022, the correct year.
When asked how they paid for their flight tickets from Kumasi to Accra, they praised fellow musician Ova Wise for covering all of their expenses.
