A 14-year-old girl died tragically at the Kokrobite beach in the Greater Accra Region’s Ga South Municipality.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Easter Monday when the deceased, a Kokrobite Presby School Junior High School (JHS) 3 student, went to the beach with her companions.
She was supposed to be sunbathing on some piled-high rocks by the shore when a strong storm passed through, splitting some of the rocks.
A piece of broken rock landed on the girl’s forehead, causing her to bleed heavily and scream for aid.
She was sent to the Kokrobete hospital but unfortunately died.
Her family and classmates were shocked by the tragedy, and they are still reeling from the circumstances that led to her death.
Saka Allotey, the assemblyman for the Kokrobite Electoral Area, confirmed the occurrence to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei, noting that the body had been put at the mortuary.
