Wrapping food in plastic affects menstruation and sperms – Environment Minister

The Environment Minister has advised Akufo-Addo to prohibit the use of plastic in food packaging.

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Ghana’s Environment Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation has encouraged the government to prohibit the use of plastic in food packaging.

At the national launch of the Plastic Waste Management Campaign at Abetifi in the Eastern Region, he gave this advice.

The Minister emphasized how dangerous this practice is to the typical person’s health.

“Occasionally, the binding substance seeps into our bodies and disrupts internal functions. As a physician, I am well aware of this. If you’re a woman, the plastic chemical composite shape is similar to that of your hormones, which can cause problems with your monthly cycle,” he explained.
